TOP GRADUATES GET AUTOMATIC EMPLOYMENT AS DELSU INDUCTS 17TH BATCH OF MEDICAL DOCTORS

Delta State University, Abraka has formally inducted a new set of medical doctors during its 17th induction and oath-taking ceremony held on Monday, 21st July, 2025 at the 750 Lecture Theatre A, Site III, DELSU, Abraka. The event was graced by principal officers of the university, distinguished figures from the medical profession and proud family members of the inductees. In his remarks, Vice Chancellor of DELSU, Professor Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba, commended the inductees for successfully going through the rigours of the medical training and achieving the enviable milestone of qualifying as medical doctors. He expressed hope that the careers of the newly inducted doctors would be distinguished by excellence, service and fulfilment. Professor Asagba also announced the offer of automatic employment for the two best graduating medical doctors: Dr Omoshola Oluwatosin and Dr Oghenetejiri Omamegebre.

Guest Lecturer and President, National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN), Professor Peter Ebeigbe urged the newly inducted doctors to aspire beyond the ordinary, encouraging them to aim for the stars rather than settle for the sky. He maintained that such ambition would propel them to the pinnacle of their medical careers. Professor Ebeigbe concluded by challenging the inductees to thoughtfully make three critical choices in shaping their medical career which are: Who do I want to be in the profession in the next 10-15 years? Where do I want to be in profession in the next 10-15 years? and How do I get to where I want to be in the profession in the next 10-15 years?

Provost of College of Health Sciences, DELSU, Professor Emmanuel Odokuma, in his address welcomed all present for the 17th induction and oath taking ceremony of qualified medical doctors of the university. He also appreciated all who contributed in making the induction and oath-taking ceremony successful. Professor Odokuma further thanked the Vice Chancellor of DELSU for the consistent support the College has received from the university’s management to accomplish its goal and record meaningful success.

Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), Professor Fatima Kyari, extended his congratulations to the newly inducted doctors for successfully completing their medical training. Professor Kyari, who was represented by Dr Tijjani Ali Mandaka, an Assistant Registrar in MDCN, proceeded to highlight the key steps required to solidify their standing within the medical profession.
