Rescheduling of Matriculation & Orientation Programmes and Postponement of Exams
Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka has made key adjustments to the 2024/2025 academic calendar, affecting matriculation, orientation, and examination dates.
Matriculation Ceremony (Rescheduled)
The 2024/2025 Matriculation Ceremony has been rescheduled from Saturday, January 25, 2025 to Saturday, February 1, 2025.
- Abraka Main Campus
- Time: 9:00 a.m.
- Venue: Convocation Arena, Site III
- Note: Students must be seated by 8:30 a.m.
- Oleh Campus
- Time: 11:00 a.m.
- Venue: 1000-Seater Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Engineering
- Note: Students must be seated by 10:30 a.m.
Orientation Exercise for Fresh Students
The orientation exercise will be held over three days as follows:
Day One – Wednesday, January 22, 2025
- All Faculties
- Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Activity: Opening Formalities & Lectures
- Venue: Convocation Arena
Day Two – Thursday, January 23, 2025 (Faculty-Based Activities)
- Faculties of Arts, Basic Medical Sciences & Dentistry
- Time: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Activity: Panel’s interactive session
- Venue: Convocation Hall
- Faculties of Social Sciences, Agriculture, Communication & Media Studies, Education
- Time: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Activity: Panel’s interactive session
- Venue: Social Science Large Hall
- Faculties of Management Science, Science, Pharmacy
- Time: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Activity: Panel’s interactive session
- Venue: Management Science New Hall
Day Three – Friday, January 24, 2025

Postponement of First Semester Examinations
The First Semester Examinations originally scheduled to begin on Monday, February 3, 2025, have been postponed.
- New Exam Start Date: Monday, February 17, 2025
This adjustment was made to accommodate the revised schedule and ensure adequate preparation time. The university regrets any inconvenience caused by this change.
