DELSU VC WELCOMES NUC RESOURCE VERIFICATION TEAMS,COMMENDS THEIR COMMITMENT TO NATION BUILDING

The Vice Chancellor of Delta State University, Abraka Professor Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba, has welcomed the National Universities Commission (NUC) Resource Verification teams who came to the university for their assignments. In his remarks at a brief ceremony on Monday at the Vice Chancellor’s Conference Room, Site II, DELSU, Professor Samuel Asagba commended the visiting teams for making themselves available for the exercise. He described the team’s efforts as significant sacrifices aimed at shaping the lives of the younger generation through university education. Professor Samuel Asagba concluded with optimism, expressing hope that the NUC Advisory Team’s visit would yield positive outcomes.

Earlier in her speech, Mrs Mercy Nwoke who led the NUC advisory teams, thanked the Vice Chancellor for the warm welcome accorded them. She informed the Vice Chancellor of their mission to DELSU which is for resource verification for five new programmes to be domiciled in the faculties of Education and the Social Sciences respectively. They are Religious Education, French Education, Social Work, Entrepreneurship, as well as Criminology and Security Studies. She assured the Vice Chancellor that the Team will conduct their tasks with all due diligence.

The Director of Academic Planning (DAP) of DELSU, Professor Felix Oghenemaro Enwa joined the Vice Chancellor in acknowledging the efforts of the visitors and informed them of the University’s readiness for the exercise.

Those present at the brief welcome ceremony included: Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor (Mrs) Rosemary Okoh, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Hilary Ijeoma Owamah the University Registrar, Mrs Rufina Ufiofio, representative of the university Bursar, the university Librarian, Dr (Mrs) Josephine Onohwakpor, Dean of Faculty of Education, Professor (Mrs) Florence Ugorji, Dean of Faculty of the Social Sciences, Professor Sam Ogege, Director of Academic Planning, Professor Felix Enwa, Director of Ceremonials, Information and Public Relations, Professor Enajite Ojaruega, Heads of Departments, among others. The NUC Team included Mrs Mercy Nwoke, who led the team, Professor Salamat Ajede, Professor Usman Mohammed, Professor Jake Otonko, Professor Aminu Brimah, and Professor Ukeje. Others are Dr Angela Irene, Mr. Garba Rayam, Mrs Priscillia Okpata, and Mrs Queen Uchendu.
