Thursday, 13th March, 2025, marked a significant milestone in the lives of our inductees as they took the first steps on the journey of becoming thoroughbred pharmacy professionals. Seemingly, it has been a journey with cocktails of emotions, hardworking, perseverance, dedication and determination which has accumulated a noteworthy apothecary experience for their civility.
Speaking at the auspicious event of oath-taking/induction ceremony of the 14th (2023/2024) set of pharmacy graduands, the people’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samuel O. Asagba of the Delta State University, Abraka, duely represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor (Mrs) Rosemary N. Okoh congratulated the inductees and articulated that, though pharmacy is a challenging and dynamic profession, it’s therefore important for them to contribute to update themselves and display the highest standard of professionalism and ethics. He also urged them to be good and worthy ambassadors of our great institution Delta state university Abraka; which has grown from very modest beginnings to a highly rated center of teaching and research and has become the attraction of many young persons seeking admission into higher institutions.
The Faculty of Pharmacy under the leadership of Professor U. D. Adje (Dean) hosted the immediate past National President of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Professor Cyril Odianose Usifoh, who spoke keynote address on “The young pharmacist in a depressed economy: Navigating the tortuous terrain”. The Registrar, Pharmacy Council of Nigeria , Pharm. Ibrahim Babashedu Ahmed administered the Pharmacist Oath on the inductees as they echoed uniformly in repeatable pattern . Many Awards were given to distinguished medics; among others was an Award of the Overall Best Graduating student 2023/2024 Academic Session to Pharm. Isreal Blessing Obodeh.
